The challenges faced by International Services are as follows:

  • Access Control and Intrusion Prevention

    The organization needed a firewall and an intrusion prevention solution. The combination of both the solutions was needed to protect the network against intentional and unintentional intrusion attempts, and Denial of Service attacks. The organization needed to know which applications were vying to get to the Internet. Any un-productive application ought to be blocked as Internet is not a resource that can be squandered.

  • Spam & Malware Menace

    This was required to keep mails secure and in-boxes clean. Ideally it would be a ‘deploy-andforget' solution that didn‘t need to be ‘trained‘ to identify spam mails. In this light, the spam filtering was required to be totally automated and perform irrespective of the language and content of the mail with an absolute minimum amount of false positives - as no organization can afford to lose a single business opportunity should a legitimate email being wrongly classified as spam.

    A perimeter level anti-virus solution was required that could protect the network, scan and clean any malware or spyware over Web mail and scan all Web traffic to ensure the contents‘ sanctity. Moreover, all files transferred over the Internet would have to be scanned to ensure that they are malware-free.

  • Controlling Surfing Practices

    The organization needed to know who was accessing what sites and as such needed an identity based filter and reporting system that would include the users‘ online behavioral audit. Unrestricted access was draining productivity by wasteful Web surfing. Also, the bandwidth usage patterns were seriously affected when employees turn to bandwidth-hungry applications such as, Music, Video, Social networking & Streaming media and this affected the productivity of businessrelated applications. Installing a content filtering solution can eliminate these problems.

  • VPN Connectivity

    International Services has evolved into an organization with independent networks at many sites supporting a large number of users. The primary challenges for International Services were to provide access to sensitive data across a more secure and stable VPN and to improve the management reporting on Internet usage and accessibility.
