Mails are the most important medium of communication for any organization. We had up to 90% spam mail clogging our network/server resources.
Mr. Selvfasekaran Govindarajan
Al Hathboor Group
Al Hathboor Group has a dynamic workforce of 600+ multinationals spread across over 20 divisions distributed in various parts of the world. Like most corporates, Internet is one of their most critical resources. Emails are the primary mode of communication between various offices. Mr. Selvasekaran Govindarajan, IT Manager at Al Hathboor, wanted to ensure a safe and productive Internet experience to all employees. He faced he following concerns regarding Network Security.
Deluge of Spam
Mr. Govindarajan voiced his major concern saying, "Mails are the most important
medium of communication for any organization. We had up to 90% spam mail clogging
our network/server resources. So mails exchanged often got lost in the maze of spam
and the business suffered. Often business mails were wrongly classified as spam false
positives and deleted while spam still poured in."
Securing Network Perimeter
The network was under constant threat from spyware, DoS attacks, fragmented and malformed packets, blended threats and more. "Even a single successful intrusion by an external threat could lead to unbearable consequences for our business,"said Mr. Govindarajan. It was of utmost importance to avoid any incident of communication loss or data tampering due to eavesdropping attacks from external entities. Hence, a strong Firewall and IPS solution was needed.
Mr. Govindarajan wanted to avoid any network breakdown issues due to virus, root-kit, worm, Trojan and spyware infections. These malware attacks which often took a blended form through email attachments, PDF, Word documents etc. had the potential to corrupt useful files and destroy important data. It could even result in Network Downtime.
The Cyberoam Solution
After combing through the market for various solutions, Mr. Govindarajan zeroed in on
Cyberoam. He even took into consideration UTM solutions like Fortigate and Endian
Firewall, but faced disappointment. Mr. Govindarajan said,"Cyberoam UTM provided
for all our network security requirements. Hence, we have deployed One (1) CR 200i
in our Head Office in Dubai in Gateway Mode."
