Cyberoam, the industry leading identity-based Unified Threat Management (UTM) range of appliances from Elitecore Technologies, today announced that it had entered into an agreement with SnapperNet one of the largest specialist security distributors in the New Zealand.

SnapperNet is a known value added Distributor of Security Solutions. It provides Network & Internet Security products and solutions, including Network Performance Monitoring and Vulnerability Analysis Tools for the small & medium businesses to large enterprises.

Richard Paul, Director, SnapperNet says that Cyberoam’s UTM fills a significant gap in the New Zealand market. “When McAfee discontinued their UTM firewalls, there was no solid alternative solution. Cyberoam is that solution, and it even adds some extra features that the McAfee product didn’t have.” The Cyberoam system, he says, will be particularly attractive to the local industry. “They have a mid-high market feature set with a low market price tag.”

Cyberoam has recently entered into a new partnership in Australia, and were looking for a New Zealand distributor. “SnapperNet has been the force behind major brands of Network Security in the region,” says Alkesh Soneji, Business Development Manager for ANZ at Cyberoam. “With an established presence and support network in the region, we believe having SnapperNet as our distributor will benefit Cyberoam’s penetration into this market tremendously.”

“We’d actually made up our mind not to take on any new agencies this year.” Paul says. “But, after looking through the technical information they provided us and then evaluating a unit here, we approached some of our security resellers and got their opinions. The resellers were universally positive. Everything pointed to us realising we’d be mad not to take the brand on - it’s outstanding.”

Existing SnapperNet channel partners will have access to the entire Cyberoam range. “There will also be a certification program that will allow some resellers to take advantage of a Cyberoam partner program – giving them added benefits such as sales lead generation plus installation and support revenue,” says Paul.

Initially, SnapperNet won’t be looking for new channel partners to sell Cyberoam to. “To begin with we’ll be focusing on our existing reseller base but if new resellers come along with the aptitude to sell and support the range, we’ll certainly welcome them.”
