| Cyberoam announced today that Business Solutions magazine, a publication that provides information for VARs and integrators to increase sales, improve profits and beat the competition, has named Computer Connection of Central New York (CCNY) a winner of the Channel Innovator Awards in Network Security. CCNY has been recognized for combining its knowledge of government regulatory compliance with network security to build a successful business. Specifically, these achievements were seen first hand when CCNY helped New Jersey’s Pascack Valley High School integrate Cyberoam’s Unified Threat Management solution into the school’s network. | Computer Connection of Central New York (CCNY), the industry leading independent provider of Network Security and Storage Solutions, worked with Cyberoam, the leading provider of identity-based UTM solutions, to provide Pascack Valley with the appliance based solution it needed to meet the mandates of the Children’s Internet Protection Act (CIPA). CIPA is a federal law enacted in 2000 to address concerns regarding accessability to offensive content over the Internet on school and library computers. Schools that are receiving E-Rate funding or would like to receive it must meet the mandates set by this act. As CCNY is committed to creating a secure, efficient and highly available network environment, they equipped Pascack Valley with the Cyberoam CR1000i, part of the CRi Series. |

“The impressive part of this installation is the savings that Pascack Valley expects to see,” said Scott Fluty, president and CEO of CCNY. “With the installation of the Cyberoam appliance, Pascack anticipates savings of $6,400 in the first year and $30,000 in the second year. These savings will come from reduced hardware maintenance, reduced licensing requirements and decreased support costs. CCNY is pleased that it was able to work with Pascack in order to help them achieve these cost savings.” |

| Cyberoam’s CR1000i appliance contains powerful Web filtering that allows administrators to enforce Internet safety policies that block and filter Internet access in accordance with CIPA requirements, critical in enabling schools and libraries to qualify and continue receiving government funding from the E-Rate Program. The unique solution allows administrators to create Internet access policies based on the user, group or department – student, faculty, administrator, science, arts and more – ensuring that academic sites are not blocked for the relevant groups or users. Policies can even be set to give temporary access to sites for project-based research. After the installation of this solution, Pascack Valley now has the granular controls they need for complete visibility into student activities and web-surfing patterns. |
