Cyberoam announces feature enhancements to strengthen enterprise security |
Cyberoam’s Identity-Based Unified Threat Management Solutions Now Feature Active-Active High Availability, Dynamic Routing, Virtual LAN Support and Performance Enhancements to Meet Enterprises’ Evolving Security and Compliance Demands

( Newburyport, MA, September 10, 2007 )

Cyberoam, a division of Elitecore Technologies and the leading innovator of identity-based unified threat management (UTM) solutions, strengthened its presence in the medium-to-large enterprise security market with the announcement of robust feature enhancements to its CR Series appliances, including Active-Active High Availability, Dynamic Routing, Virtual LAN (VLAN) support and improved application layer performance.

These new features, in addition to significant performance enhancements that exceed the throughput requirements of enterprises as well as SME business customers, have enabled Cyberoam to meet the most stringent network security demands. The enhancements are based on enterprise security requirements and are complementary to the recently released Cyberoam Central Console, which meets the centralized control requirements of enterprise customers with multiple deployments and MSSPs.

Cyberoam’s unique identity-based UTM solutions provide a comprehensive range of security features including identity-based firewall, VPN, gateway antivirus, gateway anti-spam, intrusion prevention system and content filtering, in addition to bandwidth management and multiple link management over a single platform to maximize network and security performance in a shifting threat landscape. |

“Enterprise customers are increasingly focused on business continuity as well as high flexibility and efficiency in their security infrastructure,” said Abhilash Sonwane, Vice President of Product Management, Cyberoam. “With these feature enhancements, Cyberoam has bolstered its offering to large enterprise customers, ensuring protection of their network infrastructure while supporting their business objectives. The combination of high performance, network flexibility and efficiency demonstrates Cyberoam’s security strengths, and its commitment to meeting large and medium enterprise customers’ security, compliance and business objectives in the face of evolving threats and business requirements.”

The feature enhancements include Active-Active High Availability with load balancing between Cyberoam appliances and stateful failover to minimize single point of failure and ensure business continuity; Dynamic Routing that provides faster up-times, increased network throughput with reduced latencies and trouble-free configuration to expedite network growth; and, Virtual LAN support that enhances customers’ ability to create work profile-based groups across distributed locations and policy setting.

Cyberoam also announced significant performance enhancements to its content filtering and antivirus scanning algorithms that have resulted in a 140 to 200 percent increase in application layer throughput, strengthening enterprises’ ability to meet tough security requirements in all networks that function in a high-bandwidth consumption and traffic environment, and delivering a higher price-to-performance ratio.

Cyberoam is available in a range of appliances from CR25i to CR1500i to meet the security and compliance needs of small to large enterprises, and remote and branch offices, accommodating networks with ten to 5000 users.
